THE AHIMSA FESTIVAL FOUNDATION was founded in January 2012. The foundation supports causes that inspire self-transformation, health and peace.

The Ahimsa Festival 2012 is dedicated to providing awareness, healing and self-transformation.

The festival takes place October 14, 2012, from 1 – 10 pm at the Park Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles

A professional team of spiritual  speakers, therapists and healers, respected  yoga and meditation teachers, as well as musicians will design this day of love, joy and peace by inviting guests to be inspired to a different way of being, which allows our hearts to open and our awareness to shift to what is truly important in life: Ahimsa.

The Ahimsa Festival will donate its profits to the Valley CARES Family Justice Center, in order to support their team of professionals, which provides important services to victims of domestic violence.  Partners include the Los Angeles Police Department, Prosecutors, Neighborhood Legal Services,  Social Workers and community-based advocates. http://www.valleycaresfjc.com 

THE AHIMSA FESTIVAL 2012 supports an important cause: Non-Violence= Ahimsa!

Every 9 seconds in the US a woman is assaulted or beaten. Everyday in the US, more than three women are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends. Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women – more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined. The costs related to domestic violence in the US alone exceed $5.8 billion per year: $4.1 billion are for direct medical and health care services, while productivity losses account for nearly $1.8 billion.

Our team helps to raise awareness through community based charity and by creating a collective consciousness of healing and transformation. Yoga is a very powerful source of healing, whether we practice on our mats or off.  This event gives everyone the opportunity to come together through yoga, breath and a beautiful intention.  There will be people experiencing the festival through movement on their mats ,as well as others who are simply enjoying themselves  as they observe and enjoy the powerful exchange of energy.
