“Come Home to Your SELF…Breathe, Stand Tall and Raise the Roof!” – Jill Kennedy
A Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher and a Certified Yoga Therapist, Jill Kennedy has a passion for teaching and living the union of the Yin (feminine) and the Yang (masculine) that is Yoga. An avid practitioner for over 15 years, Jill embraced yoga as a means to restore and regenerate the mind-body challenges presented after years of participation in competitive athletics. She understands at an experiential level the power yoga wields in nurturing the body, healing injuries, and calming the mind. Jill teaches Power Yoga and music-infused Vinyasa Flow Classes (linking breath with movement), integrating traditional and non-traditional yoga asanas, with focusing on alignment, strength, balance, and intention. She guides students through a moving meditation with a dash of humor, heat, a whole lot of rhythm, and, most importantly, the breath of life. Jill intelligently leads students to reconnect with the power and peace that resides within. Jill hosts group classes at Agoura Power of Yoga, Agoura Hills, and Equinox Club, Woodland Hills, CA. In addition, she works privately with individual clients and small groups, ranging from teens to seniors. Her instruction adapts according to each student’s need…be it pain management, stress reduction, or athlete specific asana. Jill applies knowledge, experience, and a responsive intuition in helping clients to reach their goals and to create a foundation for mindfulness, growth, and transformation.
Additionally, Jill shares the gifts of Therapeutic and Restorative Yoga. Women and men who are facing challenges of physical injuries, recovering from Drug/Alcohol abuse, suffering from body image disorders, and dealing with mental health/special needs are encouraged, and inspired by Jill’s instruction. Her therapeutic group work includes guided visualization and meditation classes as well as rites of passage for recovery. Jill’s teaching and ever-evolving understanding of yoga have been profoundly impacted through Teacher Trainings (200-hr RYT and currently completing 500-hr RYT) at the Santa Barbara Yoga Center with Erich Schiffmann, Seane Corn, and Lisa Walford. Bryan Kest, Bradlee Frierott, and Lauren Peterson have strongly marked her studies, continuing to inspire a passionate commitment to a practice both on and off the yoga mat. Jill connects to her community, educating and raising consciousness as a Lululemon Ambassador in Calabasas, CA. She is the first Team Leader for EpicEveryDay, a non-profit organization created to inspire and motivate others to dream boldly, and to live and lead EPIC lives. By doing something “EpicEveryDay”, we make each day sacred.
Jill thrives on living from the inside out…healthy spirit, healthy mind, and healthy body. Her daily intention is to align her teachings with the way she strives to live… an honest, balanced, purposeful, and grateful life.
